Cell Monitoring
Cell monitoring is monitoring each of the cells included in a battery pack and ensuring that they are operated within the safe operating range. It monitors and reacts to the State of Health (SoH), State of Charge (SoC) and Depth of Discharge (DoD) with the assistance of balancing ASICs.
Security
Authentication ICs give effective protection against counterfeit products. They check that only authorized accessories are used. This helps to avoid damage to user devices as a result of non-original, sub-standard accessories or parts.
How much can you save by going Solar?
On Grid Solar
The basis of an on grid system is to generate your own power for your consumption and then to sel any unused power back to the utility co. How much you save depends on the sizr of installation you put in, so how much “extra” power you have left to sell. In Thailand they pay you 2.2 baht /kwh. However you have to remember it costs up front fees to get the licenses and for inspectins etc (can be up to 8000 baht), and because you are not producing power at night you are taking back from the grid and paying roughly 5.12 baht kw/hr. If you cooncentrate your heaviest usage to daytime whilst producing then you can save most of your present bill per month,
Off Grid Solar
Installing an off-grid powersystem will save you 100% of your current monthly power bill. With power prices seeming to rise almost quarterly that can be quite a lot. Because off-grid systems include a battery banl to store your energy for use at nights and when not producing at full capacity, they are more expensive initially but can pay for themselves often in 4-6 years. An added advantage is that you are not affected by blackouts and constant brownouts where the utility company supply less than the optimum voltage. This puts added strain on your appliances and burn out fridge, pump and aircon motors prematurely.
Hybrid System
Hybrid systems incorporate both battery storage and the ability to sell back to the utility company. Once your batteries are fully charged, any excess power produced is sold back however you are also not reliant on using grid power at night, using the stored energy from your battery storage system, This costs a little more for licenceing and inspection but shortens the time to reach payback and can even give you some small income, baing a net producer of electricity.
